Biography

Speto is a celebrated graffiti pioneer who was originally attracted to graffiti through hip-hop and breakdancing. He has been part of Sao Paulo's graffiti evolution. Today he is known for his prolific work as an illustrator, animator and murals.

Recently he was chosen by Brazil's number one beer 'Brahma' to be their cultural ambassador, showing his work around the world with exhibitions and murals. This series of prints was inspired by the Brazilian tradition of Cordel - which are hand printed pamphlets filled with stories illustrated with woodcuts. These images are his own modern day illustrations in a homage to Cordel.
