David is best known for the acclaimed clothing label Subsurface of which he was the chief designer and owner until 2004 when he finally called it a day and decided to move on to pastures new. He draws on influences from hip hop, kung fu movies, rock n roll, Hot Rods and Saul Bass to create a hybrid of graphic design and illustration that recalls aspects of designers like Swifty whilst keeping a definite foot in the fashion world in which he made his name.
