Swoon moved to New York City when she was 19 and has been sprucing up its alleyways and street sides since 1999. She specialises in large-scale wheat paste and paper cut outs of fictitious figures based on everyday city dwellers. For her it is not about connecting characters to location, as they can be placed in any city, allowing viewers to create narratives for themselves.
