Wrapped Up

The Human Touch

3rd May 2021

Excited doesn’t quite cover just how fired up we are about our first every collaborative installation with one of the UK’s oldest and most iconic art institutions. Last December we teamed up with some new friends at Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum and East London based street artist RUN to create some show stopping contemporary work in anticipation of their new exhibition ‘The Human Touch’ now open in Cambridge.

With a permanent collection of almost 600,000 pieces and over 200 years of history and education behind it, the Fitzwilliam is an incredible institution that, although a little different to us, we are over the moon to work with!

Now if you know us, chances are you know RUN. Born in Italy, the now London-based artist has exhibited all over the world, taking his bold, graphic and unconventional artworks from Palermo to China – and now Cambridge! Primarily a street artist, RUN’s passion for print, particularly monoprint informs his visual language.

A world away from the more conventional, traditional graffiti styles you might be familiar with (think bubble letters and scrawled tags) – RUN brings light and emotion to his pieces, which look their best on the side of a multi-storey building! A firm Nelly Duff favourite, his unique relationship with space and colour set him up as one of Italy’s greatest exports (aside from gelato of course)

Drawing from their monumental and extensive catalogue of artworks, this seminal exhibition at one of the UK’s most valued museums explores that thing we’re not allowed to do anymore. Touch.

‘The Human Touch’ on show now until May 3rd, brings together over 4000 years and a global collection of pieces to create a totally unique, visual experience that will never be experienced the same way again as it will be now. From anatomy and skin to the relationship between idealogical and physical desire, the industry-leading curators of this stunning exhibition have left no stone unturned.

So what better subject matter to whet your appetite for ‘The Human Touch’ than RUN’s incredible large scale hand installation? Oh and because this is us, we will also be releasing a beautiful, locally screen printed limited edition alongside ‘The Human Touch’ from RUN exclusively at Nelly Duff, stay tuned for more on this piece coming soon!
